CAR CARE / INFORMED CHOICES
Correction & protection.
Start with the problem you want to solve. Cleaning addresses dirt, correction changes suitable surface defects, and a protective product adds a separate finishing step. A single package name does not tell you which of those jobs will happen.

Compare the purpose of each step.
| Step | Primary discussion | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Wash & exterior clean | Remove dirt and assess the revealed surface | That scratches have been corrected |
| Abrasive correction | Improve suitable defects through controlled polishing | That every scratch is safely removable |
| Wax or sealant | Identify a protective product and its maintenance needs | A guaranteed lifespan on every vehicle |
| Ceramic maintenance spray | Follow the named product’s application method | The same service as a dedicated coating installation |
| Dedicated coating | Agree preparation, installation conditions and aftercare | A maintenance-free or damage-proof finish |
Set an appearance target before choosing protection.
For a daily driver, the priority might be a more even reflection while leaving deeper marks alone. For a vehicle with uncertain paint history, it may be better to stop at cleaning and assessment until the finish is understood. Write down the result you want and ask the provider whether it is realistic.
Autoglym’s product guidance distinguishes abrasive leveling from filling the appearance of defects. That is why a glossy finish does not by itself prove that marks were removed. Ask to review the result in useful light and ask which products contributed to the appearance.
Damage involving missing paint or a failing finish needs a repair conversation. More polishing is not automatically the better choice. A responsible quote should explain what will not be attempted as clearly as what will be improved.
Make competing quotes comparable.
Request the same information from each provider: starting-condition assessment, preparation, intended improvement, the exact protective product, treated surfaces, location requirements and aftercare. Separate the polishing cost from the coating or finishing-product cost if the quote bundles them.
Ask who handles concerns, which promises are written and whether a claimed warranty has eligibility or maintenance conditions. A product’s advertised durability is not evidence of the results or terms an unverified local provider will deliver. This site does not certify installers or offer a coating warranty.
Choose the next conversation.
If ordinary cleanliness is the goal, begin with exterior detailing. If marks are the priority, request a paint-correction assessment. If the finish is acceptable and you want to evaluate a longer-term protection plan, discuss ceramic-coating suitability.
For any protection choice, plan the care between appointments at the same time. A service that fits your parking, schedule and maintenance habits is more useful than a name that sounds more advanced.
